Yes. Admit it or not but everyone has a past. While most of us left it like garbage, some pasts can return and haunt you like a bad dream. Anuj Tiwari’s new book It’s Not Right...But It’s okay is all about how we can move on in spite of haunting past.
Meet Angira, a happy-go-lucky girl who has recently overcome from an ugly heartbreak. Meet Ved, a passionate footballer with past. When these two comes around, you can expect a journey full of passion, love and commitment. The best thing about the book is its message which was evident at the end, “if we have a past that we aren’t particularly proud of, it doesn’t mean that we can’t have a promising future”. This is one of the most positive things to share with your readers and Anuj Tiwari managed it in a fine way. So, let’s begin with the review.
The Things which are right
Exceptional story telling. The book is light to read and doesn’t pretend to be loaded with heavy musing. The book was aimed for today’s generation and the author has done full justice to it. The bond we share with our family, our friends and with our roommates... all the practical details are very well described in the book. The way Charu took care of Angira reminded me of my roommates while the bonding and talk between Arjun and his mom reminded me of my chatting with ma in the kitchen. Arjun’s mother is just like our mothers who care and constantly panic about a son or daughter who live in another city.
The characters are also well written. Especially the four main characters are good and you can really relate to their life. Anuj has also given equal importance to the minor ones and you can actually remember all of their names.
The book reminds you the bonding and selfless love between friends. No matter what happened, at the end, your friends will always take care and support you.
The things which are Okay
Though the book lacks in such things, one thing that can be delved deep. It is Arjun’s problem and his background. Though I first guess that at the end he is going to get Anushka, I would love to know more about him.
The book was written in present tense and that is why it was little difficult in some places to picture it properly.
Cover Design and Editing
The cover designer has done a great job here. It reminded me of a beautiful afternoon with a loved one. And the editing is quite good too. Well, when the book is from Rupa, it has to be perfect in every sense.
